Biological sex and gender identity are the same for most people, however this is not the case for everyone. Some people may have the anatomy of a man, but identify themselves as a woman, or vice-versa, while others may not feel they are definitively either male or female.

This mismatch can lead to distressing and uncomfortable feelings, called gender dysphoria. Gender dysphoria is a medical condition not a mental illness. However psychological problems can arise and we can help you with these.

Contact and Appointments

If you are seeking an appointment with a psychiatrist, you should discuss this first with your GP to obtain a referral. Referrals are also accepted from clinical psychologists and counsellors.

Once you have your referral, please do contact us via our Enquiry Form and one of our team will be in touch without delay.

Overseas referrals are warmly welcomed. We do also see individuals without a family doctor (GP), and we can help you find a private or NHS family doctor.
