Testimonials

When I came to Sloane Court [Clinic] for treatment a few months ago I felt like I was at rock bottom. I was virtually unable to sleep through the feelings of anxiety and terror that I had. I felt unable to look forward to anything in the future given how pervasive and overwhelming those feelings were. I did not think that life could be enjoyed. I now feel worlds apart from that person, and that is in great part due to the treatment of Dr Aslam. His manner with me was perfectly pitched, and he quickly established a rapport that allowed me to open up to him fully. I’m extremely grateful for his time and wisdom and would recommend him without hesitation to anyone else suffering with feelings of anxiety. I had received a poor standard of CBT at a different clinic and was very cynical of its ability to treat me. Dr Aslam has disabused me of that notion, he ‘gets it’. A wonderful practitioner.

I was already struggling, but the months that followed were some of the most difficult of my life, marked by significant personal losses and instability. Throughout, Dr Aslam supported me with patience and care, helping me navigate challenges when I felt ready to give up. Through CBT, values-based work, and integrative approaches, he helped me better understand my thoughts and emotions, build resilience, acceptance, and make meaningful, positive changes in my life.

There are times when I don't recognise myself, in a very good way. I am less anxious, less depressed, and far more resilient. We ultimately reached our goal: I am now able to be my own therapist. It was bittersweet to end our work together; I am deeply grateful for the support and tools he gave me but I’ll genuinely miss our sessions. It is difficult to overstate the good he has done for me and I would recommend him wholeheartedly and without reservation.

I had several months of therapy with Dr Saarim Aslam after being referred while struggling with depression and anxiety. I was in a very dark place and initially felt pessimistic about how therapy could help. From the outset, however, Dr Aslam was compassionate, engaging, and kind, approaching therapy as a genuine partnership with the clear aim of helping me develop the tools to support myself.

Saarim made me feel comfortable to share my problems, and layered his treatment approach on top of this strong foundation. I would therefore just like to express how grateful I am for having been his patient, and my sincere thanks to him for all of the sessions and work we have done together. Most importantly, I truly got the feeling Saarim cared and wanted to help. As a patient, this feeling is arguably one of the key components of treatment success, and I don't doubt that Saarim will express the same level of care and detail to all of his future patients.

From my first appointment with Saarim I experienced a level of tailored and pragmatic care that I had not experienced in many years of treatment. Saarim expressed a level of compassion and attention that made me feel very comfortable and able to share my experiences honestly and openly, something which I see as critical and ultimately a core reason for this treatment being successful for me. His approach involved exploring my circumstances and way of thinking, and tailoring treatment to the context of my life , rather than applying a "cookie cutter" style of treatment which often I have had difficulties with.
