Dr Livia Martucci
MBBS PhD MRCPsych
Dr Livia Martucci is a consultant in perinatal psychiatry. She is fully registered as a specialist with the GMC, is a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, and is the clinical lead for perinatal services in South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLaM). She has worked in the NHS for over 11 years, and completed her specialist training in SLaM. She has a PhD in genetics and a postgraduate diploma in medical education.
She has trained on the Maudsley and Royal Free rotations both as a perinatal psychiatrist and general adult psychiatrist. During her training she gained extensive experience of outpatient and inpatient. She has experience of parent infant psychotherapy and of psychodynamic psychotherapy.
She is experienced in assessment and management of many common and complex mental health problems including anxiety, panic, OCD, depression and other affective disorders such as Bipolar Disorder as well as psychotic illnesses, both in the perinatal period and more generally in men and women, and has experience of partners/fathers with antenatal and postnatal anxiety or depression. She has worked with mother and infant dyads providing parent infant psychotherapy.
In the NHS Dr Martucci works as a consultant in perinatal psychiatry for a well established community and maternity liaison perinatal team. She is also the clinical lead for the perinatal service in SLaM.
Dr Martucci has extensive training and teaching experience and has been the academic training programme director for psychiatry in London. Previously she has been the college tutor for Specialty trainees for the ELFT-NELFT rotation, and psychiatry Foundation Trainees tutor for North London.
She has been the Academic officer for the Perinatal Faculty at the Royal College of Psychiatry, and is the incoming Chair for the faculty, from June 2024.
