Dealing with a traumatic event
There are times when we can all feel stressed at work or in our personal lives. Alternatively, an event occurs, such as an accident or assault, which results in our normal coping mechanisms feeling overwhelmed. Both scenarios can lead to significant psychological symptoms and an interference with day-to-day activities.
We offer a consultant-led diagnostic and treatment service for stress-related problems, such as post-traumatic stress disorder, using a multi-disciplinary approach to care. Patients are seen quickly and treatment interventions are focused and usually short term. A holistic approach is adopted and, if appropriate, family members can be seen.
We offer combined medical and psychological interventions in line with NICE guidelines.
We have an expert team of Consultant Psychiatrists, Clinical Psychologists and Psychotherapists who are well versed in helping manage challenges following a traumatic event.
Contact and Appointments
If you are seeking an appointment with a psychiatrist, you should discuss this first with your GP to obtain a referral. Referrals are also accepted from clinical psychologists and counsellors.
Once you have your referral, please do contact us via our Enquiry Form and one of our team will be in touch without delay.
Overseas referrals are warmly welcomed. We do also see individuals without a family doctor (GP), and we can help you find a private or NHS family doctor.
