Impact of Menopause
Menopause is a biological process that occurs at the end of a woman’s fertile years. While most of the changes impact the reproductive system, menopause can also have a significant impact on mental health. This can be due to the hormonal changes taking place in the body, or a knock on effect of the symptoms (e.g. difficulty sleeping leading to feeling easily irritated).
Menopausal symptoms can include:
- Feeling angry or easily irritated
- Anxiety
- Forgetfulness, lack of concentration or ‘brain fog’
- Loss of confidence or self-esteem
- Low mood
- Difficulty sleeping
While these symptoms are all normal, you don’t have to suffer without help.
